Support Services

Today, in our province there is critical shortage of foster homes. Homes like yours.

Social Work Support

Every child and youth in care has an assigned social worker that is also responsible for providing support and services to the foster family. The social worker is also responsible for linking foster families to other community support services (e.g. medical services) they may require to care for the child or youth.

After Hours Support

A social worker is available during regular office hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is after hours support when emergency situations arise after regular office hours and on holiday and weekends by calling the local after hours number in your region. The regional after hours numbers can be found here.

I consider fostering to be one of the greatest privileges that I have had.
